CLIFF HOUSE HOLIDAY COTTAGES
ABOUT JACQUELINE AND ALASTAIR
We are Jacqueline and Alastair and in 2020 we upped sticks from Sheffield and moved up to Cliff House along with our family, cats and dog. Being a family-run business, we take immense pride in the outstanding reviews we’ve received from our valued guests. Don’t hesitate to browse through our reviews and see for yourself the wonderful experiences others have had at our Holiday Cottages in Yorkshire. We are always around to offer advice about places to visit but our aim is never to be in the way either! Find out more about us and adventure here.
Lovely cottage in a beautiful village ideal for both countryside and the coast
ABOUT CLIFF HOUSE
Cliff House has stood at the head of the village of Ebberston since at least 1750, but it probably dates back even further than that to 1650. Cliff House has certainly grown over the years, being expanded as time and needs have progressed – we think there is at least five different phases of development. All this results in a very special building which we are the custodians of, looking after its Grade II listed status and making sure we do all the right things to maintain the character of the property. Throughout the years Cliff House has been a farm, evidenced by all the out buildings, some of which are now our cottages. Its been a race horse stud farm, and in the last 40 years has been a bed and breakfast before becoming the self holiday cottages with swimming pool (where one of the old barns used to be) and family home that it is now.
OUR REVIEWS
We know that booking a holiday is a big decision, but hopefully through exploring our website and reading our posts you get a feel not only for us, but for the family friendly self catering accommodation that we offer. But…don’t take just our word for it, have read through our reviews too!
Jacqueline and Alastair were extremely accommodating around hosting all 10 of us
ABOUT OUR SUSTAINABILITY
We try really hard at Cliff House Holiday Cottages to be as sustainable as we can be. Whether that is using environmentally friendly loo roll, using time tested cleaning solutions (like white vinegar) and generally trying to better at doing things – including installing a new more fuel efficient pool heating unit, fitting solar panels and installing electric vehicle charging points. To find out more about our sustainable practices, have a look here.
ABOUT OUR ACCESSIBILITY
Our cottages at Cliff House Holiday Cottages are mainly old farm our buildings, such as the old coach house and stables, or in the case of our smaller cottages the old laundry (Apple Cottage) or the attic space (Pear Loft) where children use to play. As a result, all of our cottages have the need to go up and down some stairs and none can be easily adapted. Have a look at our accessibility guide to help you make the right choice of cottage for you.
