Last night we enjoyed a wonderful evening at The C

Last night we enjoyed a wonderful evening at The Cook's Place in Malton (Thecooksplacemalton) , hosted by Gilly and Katherine from the Sonnenmulde Winery in Austria.

Over the course of the evening we tasted four wines from the winery, each paired with a dish created and cooked in front of us by Gilly. It was fascinating to hear the stories behind the wines, learn more about the vineyard, and see how each dish had been carefully designed to complement them.

One of the things we enjoy most about living here is discovering experiences like this. Malton may be known as Yorkshire's food capital, but it's the people behind businesses like The Cook's Place who make it such a special place to visit.

If you're staying at Cliff House, it's well worth keeping an eye on The Cook's Place events calendar. Alongside evenings like this, Gilly also runs chef's table experiences, cookery workshops and skills classes throughout the year.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening, great food, excellent wine and good company.
