The Importance of Time Together Family and Friends
Bringing people together isn’t always straightforward. Finding somewhere that works for everyone even less so.
At Cliff House Holiday Cottages, we offer flexible group accommodation in North Yorkshire, with five cottages set around two acres of gardens and woodland.
You can stay together, share time as a group, and still have your own space when you need it.
Whether it’s a family gathering, a group of friends, or a few families holidaying together, it’s a setup that works without feeling crowded.
Stay together, without being on top of each other
One of the challenges with group holidays is balance.
Too big and it feels impersonal.
Too small and there’s no breathing room.
Here, you can book multiple cottages, giving you:
- Shared time in the gardens, pool and games room
- Separate living spaces and kitchens
- Flexibility across different group sizes
It’s particularly suited to:
- Multi-generational family stays
- Friends catching up
- Walking or cycling groups
Space to spend time together
Across the site, there’s plenty of room to gather without needing to leave:
- Two Acres of Gardens: Enjoy wandering through our spacious grounds, complete with outdoor play equipment for children and plenty of areas to unwind or have a picnic with your group.
- Indoor Heated Swimming Pool: Make the most of our 9-meter indoor heated pool, available for your exclusive use—ideal for a relaxing swim after exploring the local area.
- Games Room: Spend time with family and friends in our games room, which offers table tennis, pool, and a selection of books, board games and toys.
- Pet-Friendly Accommodation: We welcome well-behaved dogs, with dog-friendly cottages and access to nearby walking trails, so your furry friends can join in the adventure.
- Woodland with a firepit for evenings outdoors
It’s the kind of space where people naturally come together, without needing to plan too much.
And space to do your own thing
Just as important, each cottage gives you somewhere to step back.
- Your own kitchen and living space
- Quiet corners across the gardens
- Walks straight from the door
It’s a more relaxed way of holidaying as a group.

Our Facilities
Indoor Heated Pool
Measuring 9 meters long and 4.5 meters wide, the pool is a good size for family fun. With a new decked area for 2022, new shower and extra seating this is the perfect place to spend family time. For more details about our indoor heated pool, please look here.
Games Room
Above our indoor heated swimming pool, we have a games room complete with pool table (2 x 20p required – ask at Cliff House if you run out of change) and table tennis table. In addition we have a seating area to allow you to peruse the visitor information and leaflets that we provide in our small “visitor centre”. For more details have a look here.
Gardens and Play Equipment
The most easy to get to part of our garden is our play garden. In it we have a big grassy area, our ducks (come ask us for some feed), a big family sized picnic bench (complete with stone for putting disposable BBQs on), and giant wooden play centre with slide, climbing wall and scramble net. Next to our wooden play equipment we have one of two magnification posts in the gardens. For more details have a look here.
