Photography Workshops on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway

News and Events, Places to Visit, Things to Do

The North Yorkshire Moors Railway is running a series of photography workshops in 2020 aimed at beginner and Intermediate photographers.  With low numbers of participants (6 on the beginners and 8 on the intermediate) you will receive a significant amount of time and attention from the photography workshop leader.

On the photography workshop you will initially travel to Goathland Station (Heartbeat country!) on the heritage railway to try your hand at landscape and station photography. At Goathland the workshop leader will demonstrate the best techniques for making top quality landscape images. There will be a short, fifteen minute walk across the moor to a viewing location for photographing trains passing through Darnholme, additionally there will be opportunities to photograph trains and NYMR staff and volunteers as they come and go at Goathland Station.

If this workshop, or indeed photography in the North York Moors or the North Yorkshire Coast in general appeals to you, then why not book one of our holiday cottages for your stay? We offer a range of cottages that can sleep 1 to 6 people.  Additionally we have contacts with a number of local photographers who can offer 1-2-1 tuition tailored to your needs and we can offer lots of advice ourselves as to where to visit if you fancy going it alone with your photography.  For more information, have a look at our dedicated photography page.
