A fantastic new restaurant in Malton, putting it firmly on the foodie map
Uovo has been around the East and North Yorkshire area as a pop up restaurant headed by chef patron David Tait for a couple of years now following lock down. Recently David has set down roots in The Cross Keys, a pub with lots of space for dining, in the Ryedale market town of Malton.
We went on a Sunday afternoon about a week after the official opening. From start to finish the service, the atmosphere and the food was fantastic. From opening the wax sealed menus, we knew we were in for a treat. Maître d’ Matt took us through the menu and made some great suggestions for wine pairings. The food was fantastic, from a duck leg terrine paired with cherries and Yorkshire Parkin Crumb, to mains of rock bass, with scraps, a fantastic take on a traditional Sunday roast followed by desserts of cheesecake and a blackberry terrine, with a fantastic yogurty foam.
If you are looking for a modern British fine dining experience when on holiday, then Uovo definitely a place to consider. With the addition of a fine dining restaurant, Malton can truly be the Food Capital of Yorkshire.
