Sustainable Enhancements in Wishing Well Wood: Replanting, Pathways, and Repurposing at Cliff House Holiday Cottages
At Cliff House Holiday Cottages, we continuously strive to enhance our grounds while promoting sustainable practices. Today, we focused our efforts on Wishing Well Wood—a quiet, natural retreat right on our property.
We began by replanting snowdrops that were still in the green, carefully relocating them from another section of the garden. These early blooms add a delicate touch to the woodland and signal the approach of spring. We also laid additional pathways throughout the wood, making it easier for our guests to explore and enjoy this serene environment.
In response to recent high winds, we removed a few trees that had become unsafe, including one that had fallen into the pond. The felled trees aren’t going to waste; they will be chopped up and repurposed to create dead hedges and bug hotels. These sustainable projects not only help maintain safety but also support local biodiversity and provide habitats for insects.
We love sharing these behind-the-scenes looks at our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, beautiful, and sustainable environment for our guests at Cliff House Holiday Cottages.
