At Cliff House we try to be as environmentally and as socially responsible as possible. Whether that is by trying to use local trades people when renovating our own home and our cottages, supporting local crafts people (more on that very soon!) or by trying to source the most environmentally products to use in our cottages. Whatever we do, we try to bake these responsibilities into everything that we do. We might not get it right all the time, but we are trying to be better.
Which brings us to loo roll. We currently use a brand called Cheeky Panda, its made from natural bamboo and we think its one of the best environmentally friendly rolls on the market just now, without paying a premium. The rolls are compressed, so that they can ship more, and they off set their carbon emissions. Our kittens were even born in an upcycled Cheeky Panda box!
At Cliff House we provide 2 loo rolls in each of our loos in our self-catering cottages, so that if you forget to bring your own, you shouldn’t have to go without!
Come stay at Cliff House Holiday Cottages
Our five holiday cottages in North Yorkshire are just on the edge of the North York Moors National Park and 20 minutes from the Yorkshire Coast. Half way between the market town of Pickering and the seaside town of Scarborough. We offer a perfect year round base for exploring what the area has to offer, from Flamingo Land, the North York Moors Railway to the modern history museum of Eden Camp and a lot more besides! Our range of five cottages include a 6 person cottage with one en suite and a further 2 bathrooms, as well as smaller cottages suitable for couples and people travelling on their own. All of our cottages are set within 2 acres of grounds, are dog friendly and all cottages have access to our indoor heated swimming pool and games room. As “Walking Friendly” accommodation, we supply maps and local guide books with details of lots of local walks – also as we live on site we are also on hand to recommend a walk or two!
