A Day Trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway to Whitby

Places to Visit, Things to Do

Lots of our guests take a trip on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway. A fantastic volunteer led railway that winds through the heart of the picturesque North York Moors National Park. Depending on what service you take, you can go all the way from Pickering, just 15 minutes from our cottages, to Whitby on the Yorkshire Coast. No visit to Whitby would be complete without a visit to the Abbey, inspiration for Bram Stoker’s “Dracula”. Whilst you are up there, having climbed the 199 steps to get there, why not visit the Whitby Brewery which has great views of the Abbey (and it also does good beer and freshly baked pizzas!).
