 Verified We really enjoyed our stay. Cottage was very homely and a lovely base to come back to after a day out. Use of the heated indoor swimming pool was a big bonus. Lots to do in the surrounding area and very near the coast. The grounds in which the cottage was located were beautifully kept and made an ideal place to relax.

 Verified A beautiful cottage in a beautiful location, thank you! ☺Excellent property in a beautiful location! We loved the pool and the gardens in particular. The cottage was lovely and clean with fresh bread and marmalade on arrival. Jacqueline was very friendly and made us feel so welcome so thank you! :) ☹The only one downside was the water pressure in the cottage. We already knew about this from other reviews but it was really bad which was a shame. Apart from that no complaints at all, we had a great stay!

  Self catering The Pear Loft was perfect for a weeks getaway for us both. Clean, comfortable with wonderful facilities and great hosts. The swimming pool is a massive bonus, especially with private use. Very central for the Dales and the coast. We will be back.

 Verified Lovely little cottage, very cosy & well equipped. Beautiful gardens with a nice walk close by. We have a little dog & there was an enclosed area outside the front door which was very useful. Pool & games room were a fabulous addition & there is a pub within a short stroll. Excellent location for the coast, Dalby Forest & the moors.

We had four fabulous days in Apple Cottage. It was wonderful, the cottage is perfect for 2 and the grounds are amazing. There is a pond in the woodland area that was brilliant for watching bats in the evening.  Jacqueline was lovely and had left us bread, milk, jam and homemade cookies (very yummy homemade cookies). Everything was very welcoming and relaxed and well thought out. There's a swimming pool and games room, so between that and what is in the cottages, you have everything you need for a really lovely break. I would highly recommend Cliff House cottages as a base for anything in that area of North Yorkshire, you are close to York, Malton, multiple seaside towns and several good wildlife locations, including RSPB Bempton Cliffs. Definitely hoping to go back again. Really, really enjoyed my visit. Edited to add : I went back a year later. Just as good as the first time.

 Verified We had a great time at Apple Cottage, convenient for Dalby Forest and the moors, North Yorkshire Moors steam railway. The pool was a bonus after a day's walk. It was a delight to walk round the beautiful gardens in the company of Pickle the cat and her mum and the very friendly chickens.Lemon drizzle cake, bread and marmalade were greatly appreciated; Jacqueline was very helpful, friendly and responsive.

 Verified Apple Cottage is small but perfect for our weekend retreat. It was easy to find and has a dedicated parking slot. From the front door there are a few stairs down to the kitchen and bedroom and a few stairs up to the living room and bathroom. Jacqueline showed us around the lovely grounds, all of which are available to guests, and was friendly but never intrusive. The swimming pool is a bonus and the timed slots means you always have it to yourself. Ideally placed for exploring the local area, including Dalby Forest. We had a lovely weekend and would certainly return.

 Verified Just wow, beautiful location such pretty gardens, really quaint corner of North Yorkshire. Jacqueline was a super helpful host, lovely surprise of treats on arrival - yummy!! Cottage so clean, cute and comfortable. Swimming pool access such a bonus. Location amazing for accessing all North Yorkshire has to offer: coast, countryside & pretty villages. Local pub had friendly staff, enjoyed lovely pub grub tea. Can’t fault anything, our stay was perfect, would highly recommend and will return. We stayed in Apple Cottage which had a pretty secure small garden to enjoy reading and a morning coffee with the dog happily mooching in the dappled sunlight listening to the little brook bubbling past. Cottage is well equipped, perfect for our needs. Just lovely stay wish we’d stayed longer.

  Jacqueline and Alastair are great hosts and very approachable and present if you need them. We were in Pear Loft and needed to be careful of the low ceilings in places as we are tall people. The facilities are great and the kitchen well equipped and the gardens peaceful. The welcome groceries were a lovely touch . The information booklet is very thorough and helpful on the area and places to visit aswell as Cliff House Holiday Cottages too . The road running along the front was really noticeable to us only on the first night and we slept well. We found the situation perfect for exploring North Yorkshire. It was helpful having electric charging on site too Thank you !

 Verified Overall we couldn’t believe how great this place was. Situated in a lovely place which was quiet but close enough to surrounding areas with lots of things to do. Cottage was perfect, very clean and tidy and had everything you would need. The grounds were beautiful and well maintained - great for kids or relaxing in the sun. Swimming pool was fantastic our son loved it. Games room was also a bonus with lots of toys and games. Will return in the future for sure!

 Verified Set in a wonderful peaceful village, this place is idyllic, with a gorgeous garden and surrounding area youre surrounded by greenery.Jacqueline was very accommodating and quick to help with any questions or requests.The place itself was clean, tidy and comfortable.  Verified What a relaxing place to stay. It is a well thought out cottage with everything we needed. The pool was a bonus and was really clean and inviting.   We had a lovely stay in the Granary, the cake and local bread left for us in the cottage was delicious. The accommodation is so quiet. The pool was a lovely bonus. Looking forward to returning in November to celebrate my 70th birthday with family and friends. A real gem in a lovely location.

 Verified We absolutely LOVED our stay, the only thing we’d have changed was to stay longer. Our three teenage kids loved the pool and games room. My twin girls were obsessed with the cats and the chickens too. Location was perfect for us. Plenty of opportunities to drive to various places. We were met with such a beautiful cake which I ate far too much of. We would go back in an instance, the kids are already demanding it!

It was a great location, very private and the cottage stayed nice and cool ☺I arrived Friday afternoon, it was quiet, tranquil and Jacqueline met me at the door to show me around. The gardens and the view of the horses in the morning was a highlight for me. ☹Bathroom had some mould and the bed very noisy so was hard to get a full night rest.
