ORCHARD HOUSE
ORCHARD HOUSE
Renovated and refurbished in 2021, Orchard House is our largest dog-friendly self-catering cottage. Sleeping up to six guests plus a cot, it offers plenty of space for families or groups of friends exploring the North York Moors, Dalby Forest and the Yorkshire coast.
The cottage overlooks the gardens and orchard, with new patio doors providing an inviting connection between the house and the outdoor space.
On the ground floor, the entrance hall leads to a shower room and WC, which is particularly useful after a day of walking or mountain biking. There is also a spacious lounge with an open fire, with the first basket of logs provided, a flat-screen television with Freeview, and a Bluetooth-enabled mini hi-fi.
The separate kitchen and dining room is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, fridge-freezer and Nespresso coffee machine. Maps of the surrounding area, created by local artist There and Back Again Maps, provide inspiration for days out and walks during your stay.
Upstairs, the main en-suite bedroom can be arranged with either a double bed or two single beds. Together with the two further twin bedrooms, this makes Orchard House a flexible option for families or for six friends traveling together. The en-suite has a large double shower and WC, while the family bathroom includes a shower over the bath and a WC.
Fitted stair gates are provided at both the top and bottom of the stairs, and the cottage has full gas central heating throughout.
Outside, Orchard House has dedicated off-street parking for two cars. Guests can also use our on-site electric vehicle charging points.
Your stay includes access to our indoor heated swimming pool, with private swimming sessions allocated to each cottage, as well as the games room, children’s play area, gardens, orchard and woodland. Wi-Fi is available throughout the cottage.

WONDERFUL WEEK
We had a wonderful week staying here. Our daughter, SIL and two granddaughters in one cottage and we two in another. The pool was the centre of our holiday twice a day, the granddaughters absolutely loved it. The timed allocations worked perfectly for us. The rooms were lovely and clean with everything you’d need to self cater and then some – NORMAN
PLENTY TO DO
Clean, covid aware, top quality bed linen, very welcome welcome pack! Lovely family-run set of cottages in a lovely peaceful garden – one step in and I felt the stress leave me! Plenty to do – coast, moors, walks, steam trains, gardens, lavender fields, food markets – ANNA
WARM AND COMFORTABLE
The cottage (Orchard House) is well fitted out to a high standard and has everything you need. It’s really warm and comfortable with a lovely open fire if you need it too. The beds are lovely and comfortable with top quality bedding, and no waiting for bathrooms with 3 separate showers – KAREN
OUR COTTAGES
Being near the coastal towns of Whitby and Scarborough, as well as the market towns of Pickering and Malton, we are well sited for visiting the best that the Yorkshire Coast and Countryside has to offer. We are also very handy for such attractions as Flamingoland near Pickering and the Alpamare waterpark in Scarborough. For more information on what to see and do, please visit our “What’s On” page.
York isn’t very far away, you can either drive or park up and take advantage of the hourly train service from Malton.
A perfect day trip is to be had on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway, which can coupled with some time in the market town of Pickering. To the east there is the beautiful Yorkshire Coast with the seaside towns of Bridlington, Scarborough and Whitby all close at hand – all offer something to do throughout the year. For the more active there are many cycling and mountain biking trails in Dalby Forest
