As we are now in “lockdown” with no guests for the foreseeable, we thought it would be an opportunity to get tradesmen to make good our new home and make improvements as well – of course they are in lock down too and in isolation themselves!  I guess we didn’t think that one through 🙁   That all said, I can’t think of a better place to be isolating in.

Instead we have had a busy day in our walled garden.  The kids were removing some cypress trees from the walk up to our green house – all in the name of “rural science”  🙂  .  It certainly opens the garden up.   Where the trees were, we are going to replace them with local lavender plants.  It should smell lovely when they are mature and you brush up against them.

In the greenhouse, after a good clean out, we are now growing sweet peas, more varieties of tomatoes that you ever knew were possible and chillies.own the left we have been giving the border some TLC over the past couple of days by clearing it of plants and stones. Always replanting where we can. In it we have just planted our first rhubarb. Raspberries and gooseberries will follow. All of which will eventually become jam, finding it’s way in to our welcome packs.

Once this period of isolation is behind us, we hope to welcome you to our new home and give you the chance to explore our grounds.
