CLIFF HOUSE HOLIDAY COTTAGES
OUR INDOOR HEATED SWIMMING POOL
One of the main attractions of a stay at Cliff House Holiday Cottages is our indoor heated swimming pool. Measuring 9 meters long and 4.5 meters wide, the pool is a good size for family fun. With a decked area, shower and extra seating this is the perfect place to spend family time. All of our guests get dedicated slots twice a day, as part of rota, ensuring that they have the pool to themselves. The pool is particularly popular with families and multi-generation groups, offering flexibility regardless of weather. For many guests, the pool is used little and often rather than as a single long session, which helps keep things relaxed and informal.
OUR GARDENS
At Cliff House Holiday Cottages we have two acres of gardens to explore. We have ducks and chickens that you can feed (just ask and we will give you a bag of feed). With space for children to play, we have play equipment with a small climbing wall and slide and best of all an old yew tree that you can go inside. We have quiet corners too, through out the gardens we have picnic benches and seats where you can sit and take in the tranquillity of the gardens. Behind our walled garden is our very own woodland, complete with pond (parents please note!), its perfect for a morning dog walk but also great for sitting and watching the birds at the bird feeders. Our pond is stocked with fish that you can feed – just ask us for some feed.
Many guests comment that the outdoor space feels like part of the stay rather than an add-on, particularly for longer visits or slower paced breaks.
OUR GAMES ROOM
Above our indoor heated swimming pool we have a shared family games room complete with table tennis and pool. The shared games room provides a space for downtime, especially during wetter days or quieter evenings. It is used across a wide age range, from younger children needing something active to do, through to adults enjoying a casual game. Access is shared between cottages and works best as a flexible, informal space rather than something that needs booking well in advance.
What’s more we have a lending library of books for all ages as well a collection of toys and games for the younger members of the family to borrow. And…to top it all off we have an honesty shop of essentials such as salt, pepper and sauces, as well drinks and sweets. We have our “Made in Ebberston” shop, with a selection of craft items made by residents of the village. At the far end of the games room we have a selection of pamphlets with information about local attractions, if you are stuck for ideas don’t forget that you can ask Alastair and Jacqueline!
OUR WOODLAND FIREPIT
In our woods, which we call “Wishing Well Wood”, in the middle there is a clearing. In this woodland clearing we’ve made the perfect place for woodland firepit. Bake potatoes, toast marshmallows or sing songs; this is the place to sit with family, look up at the stars and make memories.
WiFi at Cliff House
Free Wi-Fi is available across the site, with coverage suitable for general browsing, streaming, planning days out, and keeping in touch. While Cliff House is not positioned as a remote working destination, connectivity is reliable enough for everyday use.
Guests looking for a quieter stay often appreciate that the setting naturally encourages time away from screens.
