COUNTRY WALKS FROM CLIFF HOUSE
Being on the edge of the North York Moors and also being near the Yorkshire Coast, Cliff House is well situated for those that love walking.
In each of our cottages we provide for you to borrow the local Ordnance Survey map, a pack of walking route cards for longer walks in the county and in our family sized cottages a set of route cards and activities for our younger guests. In addition to that, we also have binoculars and birding guides as well so that you can make the best use of your time at Cliff House. For those that want to spend a day at Cliff House, whether that’s spending time in the pool or enjoying the grounds there are a number of shorter walks that you can do direct from the cottages that vary in length – most perfect for an after dinner stroll. The Country Code
The Country Code was originally developed in the 1930 in the UK, and still is a good set of guidance to follow when venturing out in to the countryside.
- Enjoy the countryside and respect its life and work
- Guard against all risk of fire
- Leave all gates as you found them
- Keep your pets under close control
- Keep to public paths across farmland
- Use gates and stiles to cross fences, hedges and walls
- Leave livestock, crops and machinery alone
- Take your litter home
- Help to keep all water clean
- Protect wildlife, plants and trees
- Take special care on country roads
- Make no unnecessary noise
